Xbox’s Scorpio at E3 2017 live: See Event Details

The highly anticipated answer from Microsoft to Sony’s powerful PS4 Pro and the hype created by the release of Nintendo Switch will be streamed live at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 in true 4K Ultra HD, beginning at 2:00 pm PDT on June 11th.

The annual summit of gaming industry titans runs from June 13-15 for the public, but things will get started a few days earlier with press conferences from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft.

During last’s year’s E3 Microsoft announced a major new successor to the Xbox One and later the Xbox One S, scheduled for release in late 2017. This enhanced version of the console is now famously codenamed “Project Scorpio” and Microsoft is promising that it will be THE 4K console gaming platform of 2017 and into 2018, with true, heavy-duty frame rate power for an assortment of existing and upcoming 4K HDR games from Microsoft’s partners as well as all existing games for both the Xbox One and Xbox One S consoles –the latter of which also offers 4K gaming features in the form of resolution upscaling and HDR support, as well as 4K video pass-through and ultra HD Blu-ray playback for fans of movies in the razor-sharp resolution.

While we can’t be sure how much of the above hype for the Scorpio pans out in actual consumer and testing practice, Microsoft has repeatedly claimed that the Scorpio will be “the most powerful console ever created” when it hits the market (most likely around Christmas holidays), featuring 6 Teraflops of graphical processing power and a true 4K gaming experience.

The new Xbox will be compatible with all existing Xbox One software and accessories, and features a 2.3 GHz octa-core CPU, a Radeon GPU with tons of processing power and 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM, with 4 reserved for the Xbox OS.

You can watch the announcement of Microsoft’s new console live at Xbox’s Mixer streaming platform in the same 4K resolution that the platform itself will support, from your 4K TV or UHD PC.

Here are some of the platforms where you can watch the Xbox’s briefing live and in Ultra High Definition:

Xbox’s Mixer app and website
Xbox’s Youtube channel
Xbox’s Twich channel
Although it won’t be in 4k, you can also watch the live stream on their official Facebook page. Furthermore, for cable subscribers on the US and Canada, the stream of the event will be available via Fuse.

If you want to keep track of everything, the Xbox Daily Show will be broadcasting all sorts of announcements, game demos, interviews, giveaways and more.

We can expect an impressive announcement from Microsoft at E3 2017, which will undoubtedly unveil some big time details on Project Scorpio, and hopefully finally reveal the long awaited release date of the console.
